when visiting the farm

Please keep these safety considerations in mind:

  • We do keep bees on the farm, for pollination and honey. If you are allergic to bee stings, bring appropriate medications with you.
  • We share the farm with other creatures as well: sheep, bunnies, chickens, cats, and a farm dog named Becca. We ask you to enjoy all of these animals from a safe distance and to avoid getting too close or touching the animals unless specifically invited to by one of the farm crew.  Becca is a livestock guardian dog who has a serious job to do.  Please make sure you have permission to enter any area of the farm she is in.
  • We also ask you to keep a safe distance from all farm equipment and machinery, such as tractors and mowers. All children must be supervised at all times.
  • We are fortunate to have Chimacum Creek running through the farm. This is a salmon stream and is currently undergoing re-forestation and restoration.  When enjoying the creek, please stay near the bridge and do not disturb the vegetation or enter the creek.
  • Remember, this is a working farm and so there are holes, ditches, uneven terrain, and even the occasional tool left out in the field. Please watch your step.
  • There are nettles and other irritating plants on the farm.  Be sure you know what you are touching before you do so.
